LISTENING

There are literally thousands of English learning sites out there (not to mention YouTube channels) where you can practice your listening. The best ones will also have a focused learning element to them. In other words, they will focus on subject specific vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation or fluency.

Here are my recommendations for the best (free) EFL sites for listening practice:

The BBC’s Learning English site has a great set of videos – 6 Minute English. Listen to the video, study the vocabulary and read the transcript. Recommended as the ideal targeted listening practice!

The British Council’s Learn English site also has a great listening section. Watch the videos of real-life situations, read the transcript, attempt the tasks, then download the worksheet for extra revision. Another recommended resource!

Another great online resource for practising your listening is Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab (esl-lab.com). Choose your level and work through the list of free downloadable listening quizzes and activities.
