NEWSLETTERS
It’s usually a good sign when an English-learning website offers a newsletter. It means that they are actively monitoring the site and – usually – uploading new content.
It can be a great way to keep your learning active too, with regular ‘nudges’ to remember your studies. Of course, some sites simply use newsletters as a way of gathering your email address for marketing, so always read the small print (terms and conditions) before signing up!
Here are my suggestions for the best (free) sites offering an English-learning newsletter:

Focusing on English grammar, as the name suggests, Daily Grammar.com provide a free email service through their daily blog. Lessons are posted through the week, with a quiz on Saturdays.

A favourite site of mine that I like to recommend is English Club. Students can subscribe to a number of different newsletters and updates on the English Club site. These include Idiom of the Day, Phrasal Verb of the Day, Grammar Updates and This Week in History – all free, and easy to unsubscribe if it all gets too much!
A.Word.A.Day
Here’s a nice simple site to help improve your vocabulary. A Word A Day is just that – a new word sent to you every day, along with definitions, quotations using the word, and different themes every week. Subscribe for free.

Whilst we’re here, please don’t forget to subscribe to my own newsletter, using the link at the top of the page. You’ll get my latest posts, videos, lessons and recommendations of online resources – all free, of course!
