English Club has lots of resources to support your self-study. Their reading pages offer practice resources on a wide range of topics, as well as recommended books and quizzes.
Bow Valley College – Literacy Readers
These are a great online resource! Short story talking books for ESOL readers. There are seven levels of stories written for adult learners. Each story focuses on a different learner, and has an accompanying listening track so learners can listen whilst reading the story. Make vocab and grammar notes as you work through the texts.
A nice set of non-fiction reading texts – many topical and news-related – with vocab lists and comprehension questions, from 5 Minute English.
